MEMBERS VIEW— T.A.S. IS SO FRIENDLY I received nineteen profiles, thanks to all who replied. We all like the friendly atmosphere and the enthusiasm generated at meetings. The demonstrations and working evenings were the most widely praised. This year’s experiment: working evenings led by our own members has been a resounding success, thanks to the demonstrators and Programme Secretary Claire Palmer. Some of the other activities praised were: the visit to Tate Britain, John Shotter’s demonstration, Danny Byre, the William Morris lecture, and Alan Langford’s one day workshop. The profiles show that we draw inspiration from a wide range of artists, subjects and places and they will help me to decide which subjects to include in the newsletters. Some useful suggestions were made and I would still be pleased to receive profile forms from any members who have not yet returned theirs. Congratulations and thanks to those who have contributed to this first issue. I urge everyone to send me a photograph, sketch or couple of paragraphs, in order to make our magazine as varied and interesting as possible. The deadline for the Spring 2004 issue is Saturday 21st February 2004. Di Alexander Editor
