3 GENERATIONS IN THE TOTTON ART SOCIETY

Our late mother Rose Freeman, began painting in her late eighties. She belonged to Totton Art Society for a few years and enjoyed painting very fast, as she felt she didn't have much 'time'. In fact, she lived to celebrate her 90th birthday, painting till the end!

We three daughters are following in her footsteps and enjoy 'practicing our art' at the work evenings. We have our own styles, but we are not as fast as our mother. Ann is very detailed. Mary has more of a flourish and I am trying to change my style [which is already excellent - Ed].

Our niece Nicola joined last year, but with a husband, two children and a job, her time is limited. However she makes the most of it when she can. The monthly demonstrations are most informative and we are looking forward to the detailed close-ups we will see with the new equipment. Thanks to our hard-working committee.

Art at Work

Who says art is not good fun?
To watch and learn how it's done,
In every form, to draw or paint,
Landscapes, flowers so very quaint.

Totton art group are like a family.
Lots of loud laughter and jollity.
That's what the world is all about,
Our group's the best without a doubt.
